3D sensing technology provider Prime Sense raised $20.4 Million
3D sensing technology provider Prime Sense raised $20.4 million in second round of funding led by Canaan Partners and included A round investors, Gemini Israel Funds and Genesis Partners. The funds raised will enable the company to shift from the development phase to sales, according to Inon Beracha, CEO of Prime Sense.
"We believe that the company's breakthrough technology positions it as a market leader in the fast growing arena of 3D machine vision, and we are delighted to see the market traction that Prime Sense is gaining with major brands," says Izhar Shay, a venture partner at Canaan Partners, who has joined the company's Board of Directors.
Prime Sense develops innovative 3D sensing technology that provide any digital device with the ability to see and understand the world in 3D just like humans do. The Israeli startup is focused on deployment of the technology in video game and Consumer Electronics. The company was founded in 2005 by by Aviad Maizels, the company's President, and includes Alex Shpunt, Dmitri Rais, Ophir Sharon and Tamir Berliner.

3DV Systems raised $15 million from Kleiner Perkins and Pitango Venture Capital
3DV Systems, a provider of three dimensional video technology, has raised $15 million in new financing round from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Pitango Venture Capital. In addition, Elron Electronic Industries and RDC-Rafael Development Corporation, the two major shareholder of 3DV, will convert approximately $5.1 million of shareholder loans into shares of 3DV.
Established in 1997 and headquartered in Yokne'am, Israel, 3DV has developed a unique proprietary technology which enables cameras to capture the depth dimension of objects in real time, high speed and very high resolution. The technology can revolutionize man-machine interface in multiple fields, and the company aims to initially supply camera chipsets to the video gaming and PC webcam markets.
3DV Systems will attend the Consumer Electronics Show, due to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, 8-11 January 2007, and present its new webcam, Z-Sense, and chipset, DeepC, to select potential partners and customers.

EPOS secures $10.5 million from Intel Capital, Walden Israel and JVP
Digital positioning technology developer EPOS Technologies has secured $10.5 million in funding round led by Intel Capital and Walden Israel with participation by JVP and additional investors. EPOS will use the funds to launch EPOS-enabled products via its partners, in this year Christmas shopping season.
"EPOS' digitization of the acoustic signal allows for positioning solutions that are low-cost and low-power without sacrificing high resolution," said Steve Gray, Senior Investment Manager of Intel Capital Israel. "These are characteristics of digital positioning that could finally pave the way to broad consumer acceptance in a wide variety of applications."
EPOS' advanced digital positioning technology enables a number of consumer electronics products in the input device, touch-screen and notebook markets, among other industries. The company works closely with various consumer electronics companies and partners to transform core EPOS technology into mass market commercial products. Products and solutions that can benefit from EPOS positioning technology include wireless digital pen and mouse peripherals, digital pen and USB flash drive bundles and notebook touch-screens.

EPOS launched the first mobile digital pen and USB flash drive device
Digital positioning application provider, EPOS, has launched the next generation in USB Flash Drive devices and applications - digital pen & USB flash drive. This all-in-one, mobile mini-office product enables consumers to capture, write and store hand-written notes wirelessly and in real-time everywhere and anywhere, by leveraging a digital pen with flash memory capabilities.
