Enterprise infrastructure software provider GigaSpaces completes $5 million funding round

Enterprise infrastructure software provider GigaSpaces Technologies has completed a Series C round of $5 million venture funding from BRM Capital, Intel Capital, and FTVentures. This latest infusion of capital brings to $13 million the amount GigaSpaces has raised since its founding in 2000.

"Early this year GigaSpaces will make its first formal entry into the Asia Pacific market, and expand its local sales presence in additional US and European markets,” said GigaSpaces CEO Yaron Benvenisti. “We continue our investment in open source projects and the developer community, and likely experience a doubling of staff by year end to support these initiatives."

GigaSpaces provides infrastructure software solutions that deliver unparalleled dynamic scalability for high-volume transactional applications, without the overhead and complexity inherent in traditional multi-tier development & deployment environments. Its solutions are being adopted across vertical industries such as financial services, telecommunications and law-enforcement for mission-critical applications, including: Societe Generale, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Dow Jones, Virgin Mobile, Nortel, and Hutchinson 3G.

Enterprise virtual desktop provider Kidaro secures $10 million financing round. Opus Capital led the round, joining existing investors Genesis Partners and Storm Ventures.
